About The Show

February 11, 2017

The Jukebox is a podcast hosted by Brett Stewart that launched in March of 2015. Each month, The Jukebox releases an extensive showcase of the very best independent music around. Each month's episode airs on the 25th and is available on iTunes, Pocket Casts, Tune In Radio, Stitcher, and of course, right here! (Not only can you stream the show here - you can also download it, too!)

For years, Brett Stewart has cultivated a musical following online, having released ten studio albums, over a hundred YouTube performances and videos, and having worked as a professional music writer for multiple award winning publications including the top-100 news website, the Guardian Liberty Voice. Throughout his online following, Stewart has thousands of subscribers and followers. Cumulatively, his YouTube performances have been viewed over 315,000 times.

Stewart served as the editor-in-chief of Strike Magazine for two years, an independent music and pop-culture magazine that was highly regarded by bands such as Heart, Robert Cray, Holly Williams, and others. As of October 2014, Stewart has freelanced for over 1,200 different musical artists and bands writing professional reviews, conducting interviews, and penning press releases.

As a result of all of this work, Stewart is very in touch with the independent music community. Each artist featured on The Jukebox may not have the opportunity to receive airplay anywhere else. Each of these artists are carefully chosen and each show is curated for an exceptional experience.

In addition to dozens of new independent artists and their music each episode, the show also features an array of segments including interviews, artist tips, and more! In mid 2016, The Jukebox launched The Jukebox Round Table as well, a monthly panel discussion.

So here's The Jukebox Promise: We'll never play anything less than exceptional music.

We want something in return, though! Clear your mind of biases before listening to the show. We're going to move from folk to rock to hip hop to classical to big band all in one fell swoop. Don't like reggae? Hate hip hop? Give it a chance if we play it on our show. Expand your mind! This show is by music lovers for music lovers!

Dig that smooth jazz in the outro? That's Kevin MacLeod. Check him out below. Furthermore, the show's theme music is kindly provided by Fennario's Wolf. Check them out, too!
